The trip to the cultural heritage on the Island Reichenau 02.10.2011
Reichenau Island stretches over a long distance in Lake Constance - recognizable from far away by its long tree-lined boulevard, which connects the island and the mainland and whose poplar trees seem to form a guard of honour for its visitors. Endless protected reed landscapes are to the left and right of the embankment and just after you have crossed it, you can already smell it, the unique fragrance of herbs of this island of gardeners, fishermen and vine growers that is so rich in many things. Greenhouses, vineyards and fields of lettuce alternate here with precious old churches.
Reichenau Island - The Unique island in the south -
We looked at the cathedral St. Maria und Markus in Mittelzell. To harvest an altar was built and the products of the island presented. Inside, there is a treasure trove. It is a beautiful Gothic room from the middle of the 15th Century. It contains treasures of high rank. One of the greatest art works are the reliquaries.
On the way back we took stock and were surprised how quickly the time had passed. Experienced days those we enjoied together. And now we look forward to the next international meeting in Romania and the 21st German National Meeting in France (Metz).Yes ( you are right ), are we now one of Europe or not??Maria be successful in 2013
